The Sound of Love

I sit outside, curled up in my peacock chair. My phone pressed to my ear. I stare out into the night, listening to a friend discuss her new life. There is a wonderful joy in her voice. It is like nothing I have ever heard before. It fills me with delight. Suddenly I understand that this sort of joy is worth the wait.

Glad that your friend is on a high and I hope you find your high soon. I'm on a low but that's to be expected given the time of year and the dreaded bday just around the corner.

Mailyn,

Sorry to hear that all is not well with you. I often find this time of the year sad as well. Sometimes, the holidays are lonely for single people. Office parties alone are the worst.

However, how can you dread a birthday? I love them. No matter how old I am. Those are personal holidays. A day that is for you and no one else!
