Friday's Child
Giving you a gentle wish, for an evening of naughty events. Perhaps I have become saucier during my brief sojourn....Labels: Friday's Child

Notes from the Ark
They line up outside my apartment, two by two, silently waiting to take their turn on the couch. The couch being the only dry spot in a vast land of water. Yes, the apartment has flooded again, and my streak of fucking bad, very bad luck continues.
Don’t worry, I am dry now, and currently waist deep (sorry, I could not resist) in a search for new shelter. Preferably something much higher off the ground.
So I guess this is Friday’s child giving out swimming instructions. Sorry, but you are going to have to come to Houston to collect.
XOXOXOX

Friday's Child giving you....

poetry for my little tribe....
I love thee, I love but thee
With a love that shall not die
Till the sun grows cold
And the stars grow old.

Friday's Child
(photo is of New Orleans during the hurricane, but it seems about right to me.)
giving you salty tears. It has been a bad week. Usually I try not to share too much of my drama. I have been accused in the past of trying to solicit pity. But this week has just been a series of bad events.
I stop to get gas. Pay, pump, and jump in the car. Slide my key in the ignition and nothing. Just silence. I wait. Say a silent prayer and then turn the key again. Nothing. I curse. Foul words pouring from my mouth as I dig for my cell phone. Luckily a quick call to the boy produces results. He comes and helps me get the car moving. Following day and several dollars later, it is working again.
Next, I spent the day at the mechanics’, finally making it into work several hours late. Drive home in my newly repaired car, in the pouring rain. Praying through several flooded streets that my car would make it home. I get home and find that my – wait for it – entire apartment is flooded. Ankle deep water covers the entire place. I make another frantic call and secure a wet vac. 30+ gallons of water, several hours with a broom and towels, and I manage to empty all the water out. Luckily just a pile of paperbacks and a picture of me as a teenager in New Orleans is all that is lost.
Lastly, this morning my sweet Great Dane, Bishop had to be put to sleep. Words seem to fail me at this point. And no one is coming to save the day.
Hopefully that is my three bad things, and I will move on to happier times.

Friday's Child
I am a fishy giving you insights into my secret little life. I have a boy (nickname to follow) in my life, well actually it has been a while, but I have kept it very hush hush around here. I promise to explain why later. Labels: Buckeye, Friday's Child

Day Trippin'
I have been invited on an adventure. So I have found my trusty map, and I am setting out for the California shore. At least in my mind. Here in the Lone Star state, the water is falling from the sky, not lapping gently at my toes. But in my mind, I am running along the beach with the birds circling over head. And from what I can tell, the birds in Cali have magical writing skills, or at least the ability to leave their mark at the end of a pier.So this little Friday's child is giving you wishes for a life filled with adventure, or at least some day trippin friends to share a dream with.
Thanks Changa for being the inspiration for this little post.

Friday's Child

I have been oddly sad all week. I can't quite put my finger on it. One second I am happy and the next I am fighting back tears. I guess I have a few little issues that are plaguing my mind. I am working hard to come to terms with things and move on to all the happiness and smiles that I promised myself for this year.
This weekend my sweet semi-sister/ex-roomie is coming to town for a visit. I have not seen her since she followed her heart all the way to Colorado. I can't wait to give her huge hugs and dance under the big ol' Texas starry sky.
So my Friday child giving to all my mini-tribe is hugs and dancing with the ones that you love.
