Thursday Thirteen

I know that I have neglegected my blog a lot as of late. Things just don't seem to want to go right in my life. I am trying to stay upbeat and postive, so it makes it harder to discuss them. It seems to pull me back down. Hopefully things will turn around soon. I am trying to be positive.

Anyway, here are 13 things (good, bad and ugly) that happened to me this week:

1. Moved on Saturday, movers were 3 hours late and took an hour more than I had hoped.
3. Left behind moldy couches….
2. Air conditioner did not work, discovered Sunday.
3. Plumbing appeared not to work, discovered Sunday.
4. Stove does not work, discovered Sunday.
5. Ice maker does not work, discovered Sunday.
6. Landlady is out of the country.
7. Air conditioner repaired Tuesday morning! WHOOP!
8. Bathroom floods Wednesday, thank goodness I still have a shop vacuum left over from last apartment.
9. Bathroom issue fixed on Wednesday.
10. Landlady returns to country, very apologetic.
11. Promise of new stove and toilet, Thursday.
12. Half of my things are unpacked – that is a good thing.
13. I still like the place, it is cute, hopefully all well be better soon.

I would like to think that my bad luck has run its course. But as I pack my apartment, while listening to the sounds of thunder, I have to wonder.

Today has been a grueling day - thus here are thirteen reasons that I need a large cocktail, or even just some tail. (opps!)

1. Waking up this morning and having to move everything I own to high ground (i.e., couch and bed).
2. The DMV.
3. People that go to the DMV smell funny. I mean, not me, but the rest of them - stinkypoo!
4. The DMV computer system works through a satellite, and the weather today prevented it from doing its job.
5. The fact that this happened - ummm, about 2 hours into my wait at the odoriferous DMV.
6. I have a bump (nay, pimple) on my chin plus wet weather hair, and I had to take a photo that will haunt me for years. Peering up at me from my wallet.....
7. The fact that when I finally left the DMV - the sky was falling. Literally - vast amounts of water poured from the sky. Thus causing serious street flooding.
8. Leading to this little fact. My boss is a jerk. No really, he is. The police and a seriously flooded street stood between me and the office. His response. Circle back and try another route.
9. It took me 2 and a half hours to travel less than a mile.
10. Did I mention the hair?
11. Fear that I will go home to a flooded apartment.
12. Crappy bean soup, that I spent way too much for because it was "healthy," and I am trying to be the same.
13. The fact that I risked life and limb, well okay, my car to get to work, and I am sitting here with time to write my blog.

Hmmm.....I wonder what would have happened if my car flooded out in a icehouse parking lot? This post would have been a hell of a lot perkier that is for fucking sure.*



* Damn straight bitches, I have a mother fucking rating to protect.

Yesterday was the birthday of "the boy" (working title). So in his honor, I think that I will post the 13 things that I love about him.

3. That whole sexy, intelligent glasses wearing thing. Purr….
4. He is the most positive person that I have ever met. I mean seriously, the guy is upbeat
5. He has the same quirky movie taste that I have

7. Barney Rubble feet – honestly, his feet look just like Barney’s
8. Loves live music; and is willing to go, and do and/or see just about anything with me
9. Boyish smile teamed with an infectious laugh
10. He loves to wear button down shirts and jeans. I mean really, how hot is that?
11. Appreciates the whole “wine glass on the patio with some funky jazz playing” scene
12. Thinks going grocery shopping with me is romantic (how cute is that?)
13. A wonderful sense of humor

I woke up feeling like I did not want to go to work today. It was a desperate and intense feeling, thus I did not go. Deep in the final hours of Thursday, I have been inspired to list thirteen places I would like to be -

1. London, England - Drinking an Old Speckled Hen and digging on those accents.

2. Hawaii - standing on the beach, staring at the surfers.

3. Italy - enjoying food and wine.

4. The whole state of California - stalking bloggers - mwah.....

5. Miami, Florida - stalking again.

6. Feeding jelly beans to my chubby pit bull on my ivy covered porch.

7. Floating in a huge hot bubble bath, glass of wine in hand, music blaring.

8. New York, New York - shopping, shopping, shopping

9. Las Vegas - Damn, I love those neon lights.

10. Wrapped in my beta boy's arms.

11. Austin, Texas - surrounded by funky laid back Texans, grooving on wonderful music.

12. Denver, Colorado - with my arms wrapped around my newly engaged hippy loving ex-roomie.

13. My childhood bed, with the blankets pulled far up over my head.
